Meet the Office of Fellowships's Graduate Fellowships Staff

  • Megan Bruening's Headshot

    Director, Office of Fellowships

Megan joined the George Mason community as the Assistant Director of Graduate Fellowships in 2021. Her role is to recruit and support currently enrolled and alumni graduate students applying for nationally competitive, external awards. Megan brings a holistic, process-focused approach to advising, guiding graduate students to grow as scholars and professionals during an application. With her coworkers in the Office of Fellowships, she sees the fellowship advising process as an avenue for social justice, a way to dismantle social inequities. When she's not working with students, you can find Megan reading (lots of historical fiction!) or playing with her guinea pig, Maz.
  • Headshot for Kaye Stansbury.

    Assistant Director, Office of Fellowships

As the Assistant Director in the Office of Fellowships Kaye’s primary focus is on supporting students and alumni in applying for nationally competitive awards. With an extensive background in higher education and student services, Kaye brings a holistic, people-centered approach to her advising. She holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Virginia and a MA in Education Management from Helwan and Ludwigbsurg Universities. When she's not working with students, you can find Kaye gallivanting around the globe or adding new rescue plants to her ever-growing collection.
